Our chapter is currently working towards an organizing strategy around the COVID-19 pandemic. This page will continue to be updated with resources and information about fighting austerity, demanding universal health care, and the future of the economy after COVID-19.
The resources below are local efforts throughout the Champaign-Urbana area to supply mutual aid during the pandemic. In this time of immense isolation, it is important that we support each other by staying well and establishing common goals and a common life. We must not allow quarantine to squash our dream of a better world.
If possible, please stay in your home unless necessary. If you are feeling physically unwell, observe your symptoms and take your temperature regularly. Keep a simple record of your temperature, symptoms, and the time, as well as any medications you take to reduce your symptoms. After 72 hours with fever, dry cough, sore throat, and/or shortness of breath, contact your doctor via phone or online first. If you are elderly, immunocompromised, or have underlying respiratory conditions, you should also contact your doctor if you exhibit these symptoms. Given the national shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), it is important that we all take steps to conserve resources when possible.
